Let’s play 95% Ghanaian content on our airwaves – Shatta Wale

While some industry players are advocating for 80% local music on Ghanaian airwaves, Shatta Wale says it is not enough.

The dancehall artiste is rather pushing for 95%.

“I even want it to be 95%,” he said on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, Tuesday, adding that “We have to try and grow our culture. People are been misled. I even think we should not encourage any other kind of music in Ghana.”

Shatta Wale further advised his colleagues to attach some level of seriousness to their craft. Failure to do so, according to him, will have dire consequence on the industry.

“I believe it is a good thing but let’s try and let the government know that we are ready. We have some loopholes that we have to study and work well. If we don’t do this, the government is never going to take us serious,” he noted.

The self-acclaimed ‘Dancehall King’ is on a media tour to promote his ‘Reign’ album which will be released in October 2018.
