on

Digital media company She Leads Africa has partnered with global beauty giant Dark and Lovely in Africa to help improve the business skills and confidence of young African women. The Presence and Poise Makeover Series identified four women who are working hard to build a business but need coaching and support to get to that next level.

Selected participants won a complimentary trip to Johannesburg, South Africa, business coaching from a seasoned expert and a beauty and style makeover by Dark and Lovely Haircare Experts.

The selected entrepreneurs are:

  • Mmabatho Mokgadi, a South African entrepreneur that wants to create a new generation tea lovers.
  • Wemeye Dalu, a Ghanaian entrepreneur that manufactures unrefined shea butter for the confectionary and cosmetics industries.
  • Winnifred Eberechukwu, a Nigerian entrepreneur with a thriving farming and poultry business.
  • Nancy Gitonga, a Kenyan entrepreneur providing access to quality and affordable shoes for the nation’s students.

Afua Osei, cofounder of She Leads Africa said “The goal of Presence & Poise is to support young women in business who don’t have easy access to business coaching or professional advice. We are proud to partner with Dark and Lovely Africa to provide this opportunity to women across Africa.”

“We are delighted to partner with She Leads Africa on this amazing project to support young women in business across Africa.  Supporting women empowerment programs like this is a key pillar of the brand’s sustainability platform.” says Nneka Keshi, Digital Marketing Director, L’Oréal Consumer Products Division for Sub-Saharan Africa.
