Ahoufe Patri empowers girls of Gomoa Dampase against sexual abuse


Founder and Executive Director of She Power Africa, Priscilla Opoku Agyeman popularly known in showbiz as Ahoufe Patricia together with her team embarked on a mission to empower young female students of the Gomoa Dampase D/A Model Basic School in the Central Region against sexual abuse, Wednesday.

The program which was in collaboration with Lokhanda saw 72 female participants within the ages of 12-18 learn and practice safety skills in order to understand consent, build confidence, recognize, prevent and also report any form of sexual abuse.

During the training, girls were also taught to be persistent in getting help or response from trusted authorities or persons. 

“I have witnessed and I trust that She Power is the new dawn to stop abuse in our schools and has come to stay, please don‘t go we need you here” remarked Paul Dagbui Joseph, Head Master of the school.

Miss Agyeman was hopeful the exercise would be impactful.

“It is my prayer and hope that together with support from friends, government, stake holders and everyone out there, we can give a voice to all women to speak out and defend our rights and also fulfill our full potential especially dealing with such underreported chronic behavior destroying the future of our young women and children.
